Re: Moving to Hastings with our dog.

We have two critters The country park is ace, if your dogs are lively keep them on the lead near the cliff path bit. You can get on from the East Hill or Barley Lane, or drive along to Fairlight and park up....

Those of you who commute to London-how is it really?

I am now getting to the stage where this could be a reality! :w00t: Those of you who actually do it - is it worth the schlep? Honestly and from actual experience? Not so much in the bleak midwinter; but when you can actually appreciate it in the summer and on a weekend, or weeks like this - ghost wa...

Property starting to move quickly down here now-prices on th

I have been monitoring property sales here in Hastings over the past few years whilst we ponder the move. prices have been (relatively) stable for a long time, but all of a sudden there seems to be a definite sea-change in the market down here. Prices appear to be rocketing and anything decent is go...

Re: Hastings areas to live

Hi, we are looking to buy in the Hastings area, just to say we were down at the weekend having another look and in the Hastings Observer there was a nice little Victorian cottage to rent in the West Hill area for the sort of price you are looking at, so it is achievable. The only problem you might h...

Re: Cavendish Avenue, St Leonards - a tunnel runs through it

We had a drive around there after lying on the beach at Bexhill on Sunday-what a lovely day! Him Indoors isn't too sure about that end of the town, he is a cyclist and feels it would be all uphill from there! ...

Cavendish Avenue, St Leonards - a tunnel runs through it_ _

Does anyone here live, or know someone who lives on Cavendish Avenue? It is an unmade road and from the look of the map, the railway tracks run directly underneath it. I was wondering if the trains have an effect on the houses; can you fell them under the ground? Any vibration or engine noise? Just ...

Re: Winchelsea Beach-what are they digging/fishing for?

Ah, I see - thank you! When I was a kid, we used to dig them up - and it is hard work! It was just such a novel thing and I was a little bit wary of approaching any of them in case it was something they shouldn't have been doing and they 'resented' the intrusion. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}...
