The above seems all very confusing to me! My mother is related to Alfred (Biddy) Stonham. This is her Great Uncle. In the 1891 Census he was living in West Street, Hastings with his Father Wlliam, Mother Anne (nee White). His siblings were William, James, Joseph, George, Frederick, Richard, Elizabet...

Hello Lynne, I too am seeking info regarding a convalescent home in the 1950's. Mine was a convent run by St Vincent de Paul nuns, but it was up on the hill at St.Leonards, and overlooking the sea. Any help?

Josie, I wonder if you have any knowledge of the convent/convalescent home run by the St Vincent de Paul nuns, and up on the hill in St.Leonards?

National Childrens Home - Malmesbury House
John, I too am seeking memories/pictures of a childrens home in that area, possibly the same one, but mine was formerley a convent as we were looked after by nuns. I was there in about 1954/55. Any info at all will be gratedully received. Regs, Lesley
