Re: NHS Failings

I think sometimes doctors ask this as it can be cheaper to buy some of the medicine rather that pay the prescription charge. This used to happen with my hayfever medication. It was much cheaper to buy off the shelf. Obviously if you aren't working then the prescription is paid so that's always the c...

Re: Getting our priorities right.

With recent posts on this forum I'm starting to think some people are on here just to cause trouble and insult people. It's a real shame, I belonged to another forum that went the same way and it ended up having to close.

Re: Giraffe Killing

I agree it's done a lot of harm to the idea that zoos are now ethical and all about conservation. It seems it's happens all the time though Longleat killed 6 lions recently, but at least had the sense to keep it quiet. Zoos like to draw people in to see cute baby animals because they are businesses ...

Re: Gluten-free fish and chips

Yes, to be truly gluten free you have to have a separate kitchen. I work in a cafe and we sell gluten free food but have a disclaimer saying 'that the food contains no gluten ingredients'. We can't guarantee there hasn't been cross contamination. Most people who are avoiding gluten aren't coeliacs t...

Re: NHS DENTIST

I know this is an old thread but I need a dentist in St Leonards. I've looked at reviews online and they seem very mixed. Can anyone recommend one that takes NHS patients?

Re: Moving to Hastings with our dog.

I think it's because they think if someone can afford hundred of pounds to buy a pedigree then they should be able to afford vets fees. Also as you say pedigrees tend to have more health issues. It makes sense but could be difficult if you lose your job and have 3 pedigree pets.

Re: Moving to Hastings with our dog.

You used to get help to feed your dog on benefits but I believe that stopped quite a few years ago. I think it's a good idea as many people can't afford to feed their pets when unemployed and then the animals end up in shelters, which are all full to over flowing, or put down. Even PDSA and Blue cro...

Re: pdsa

Some vets will also let you pay in instalments so might be worth asking you vet if they offer that option.

Re: Links to Gatwick airport

The journey to Gatwick from Hastings is really easy. We've always had to drive and park at airports. Now just get the train straight from St leonards into the airport. So much easier and relaxing.
