Yep Derek; spot on - I remember because Dad's shop was slap bang in the middle of it, and consequently the date July 11 1963 is part of Simpson family folklore. There were actually two successive explosions - one destroyed Milo's Cafe and Hotel - where the new building now is opposite the amusement ...

The dark man - 1950 British Noir
A friend sent me a link to the above on Youtube yesterday - four parts of this B-movie (from 1951 actually..) have been uploaded. All shot around Hastings and East Sussex, with part 3 in particular including some rather good period scenes on the seafront and then at Pett Level.

I think it was the East Kent 128 from Pett Level - subsequently became M and D 170 after the depot on The Ridge closed. Tell you what though; tell me the answer if I'm wrong and I'll make it one of my routes around the town if I get myself organised to bring my preserved M and D Leyland Leopard to T...
