What worries me about these cries for help is that they must sometimes bear fruit, otherwise the perpetrators wouldn't do their perpetrating!

As for backing-up, my system is to have daily back-ups on two external disks and a weekly back-up on a third external disk. I also (and perhaps more importantly) have a daily back-up on a USB stick that goes with me everywhere, and I mean everywhere, even inside my home!

One of the first things that I do when I get problems like that is to check the memory stick seatings. Turn the computer off, take off the side panel and locate the memory stick/s (long, narrow strips plugged into the mother board). Using both thumbs, gently but firmly press each stick into its sock...

I have to say that I don't like Jempsons' coffee very much, and the cups are smaller than those in some other cafes. And yes, I am related. I always enjoyed visiting the Waterstones cafe when it was open.

In my opinion, the monarchy is an anachronism, and one that we can't afford. I feel that when the Queen dies, it will signal the beginning of the end of the monarchy. There will be no need for a revolution - just give then enough rope and they will hang themselves. By the way, I am not a monarchist!

Exactly - there is so much to do and to learn. One lifetime is not long enough. It always exasperates me when someone says that they are bored. There isn't time to be bored - it should be a criminal offence!

It's similar to an announcement that I once heard before the start of a television programme:

I know what was meant by that, but the phrasing could have been better. It made me laugh anyway!

Yes, I like all the adverts of that kind - amusing, entertaining and well acted, but why are toothpaste adverts always so naff?
