Indeed, only the Police can enforce - but shops can prevent entry - but will not.

I understand that none of the main supermarket stores intend enforcing the rules. I should imagine the reasons are two-fold. (1) they do not want their staff to have confrontations with customers and (2) they do not want to antagonise customers - who may take their future trade elsewhere.

Richard - I didn't 'side' with anyone. You were / are both being ridiculous on this thread and I said ENOUGH. I fully expected both of you to have a got at me. I then made a point to seahermit about writings on and about Hastings. Get a grip man.....

As I've probably mentioned before, my wife was born in Hastings and we have visited regularly over the years. We have a lot of books about Hastings and its people and we are always interested in anything covering the same topics. Will welcome any links you put forward.
