Re: Bohemia Road House Re-numbering
Thanks to Richard for the higher resolution version of my Shornden picture and thanks to Whiffler for his renumbering suggestion (which could be right in view of 10 and 12 Shornden Terrace being 26 and 22 Bohemia Road). Thanks also to Felicity and I am afraid I don't know any more about the house fr...

Bohemia Road House Re-numbering
Does anyone know how the houses in Bohemia Road were renumbered, according to a previous posting on here, in 1903, please? I am trying to identify the present day property where my paternal grandmother Lucy Ellen GOLLOP's family lived at 14 Shornden Terrace on 4 June 1892 when her younger sister Emi...

Re: WESTFIELD RAILWAY AND BUSES
Absolutely right, Richard. I would hate to be a CID officer now and unable to investigate crimes, that although minor in nature by today's standards, still mean a lot to householders when they have their property stolen or their houses broken into. I retired in 1993 before things started getting rea...

Re: WESTFIELD RAILWAY AND BUSES
Fine on Doctor Who, Richard. I asked because I spent 30 years in Sussex Police, mostly in the CID, including a spell at Hastings in the late 1980s.
Thanks for the advice Seahermit about what I say to Richard!

Re: WESTFIELD RAILWAY AND BUSES
You have a good point Richard about the closure of the railways and the motorways.
By the way, what is the significance of the police box alongside your name? Are you a Doctor
Who fan or are/were you connected with the police force?

Re: WESTFIELD RAILWAY AND BUSES
Thanks again Richard. I take my hat off to your knowledge about transport in the hastings area in the 1920s.

WESTFIELD RAILWAY AND BUSES
Can anyone tell me how people would travel, apart from car, from West Marina Railway Station, St Leonards to the village of Westfield, either by railway or bus around 1930, please? My Grandad, who worked on the railway, lived at West Marina station between 1924 and 1930 and his family regularly trav...
