The mad-dog psycho on London Bridge yesterday was out on parole.
But this is where it falls down - the security forces could have incontrovertible evidence that an atrocity is about to take place, but can't do anything about it until it takes place. How stupid is that?

Re: Brexit and the current position
If you are unemployed in Hastings and let's admit there is not a lot of employment in the town, of the type that working-class people need, then you have to either register for/ claim Universal Credit or Disability Benefit. Universal Credit is not enough to survive on and so the black-market world ...

Re: Corbyn will never be Prime Minister
You don't seem to have actually identified any 'anti brexit' posts. I question propositions or statements put forward as if they are facts, when clearly they are not. Whatever. The reason I haven't presented any is because I'm unfamiliar with navigating around the forums, and my time on here is lim...

Re: Old pubs and drinking culture
OP As I've said once or twice, because I do a lot of walking I get around quite a lot, and it never ceases to amaze me how people can eat their fish 'n chips al fresco when it's freezing cold, or there's a chill wind blowing even though there are plenty of tables inside the establishments. I mean fo...

Re: Bohemia Road. What a mess!!!
I don't know if the locals there are miserable but a lot of people in central Hastings seem quite depressed. Lack of jobs and opportunities perhaps. Sign of the times, Richard? It's like it nationwide, especially since the decade of 'austerity' started. And the potholes in Upper Maze Hill are more ...

Re: Bohemia Road. What a mess!!!
On Tuesday I visited my sister in law , my first trip to Hastings for a couple of years. When back in Hastings I like to drive around my home area of St Leonards and in particular Bohemia Road/ Cornfield Terrace. Oh dear what a shock it was driving into Bohemia Road from Silverhill. I don't think t...

Re: Corbyn will never be Prime Minister
As you wrote yourself, cerebus. Whatever I don't think you will find any 'anti brexit' post from me, merely ones that question things that are stated to be facts,or something will definitely happen, when clearly ludicrous. Just challenging claims. Whatever. Well I've only been here 2 or 3 days, but...

Re: African Night 5th October
We don't always appreciate the sheer magic of being able to turn a tap on or flush the loo. Water is not 'on tap' in most African countries et seq Nor indeed in India. I watched a BBC documentary about 3 years ago about a project to install proper toilets in a part of India, but after they were up ...

Re: African Night 5th October
We don't always appreciate the sheer magic of being able to turn a tap on or flush the loo. Water is not 'on tap' in most African countries and small projects can make a big difference in educating about the dangers of contaminated water, potentially carrying many diseases, plus of course actually ...
