Re: Mystery Photo

I would have to agree with Jim on this one. There's no slope on Robertson Street to speak of, yet the picture shows a definite incline.

Re: Hylands Hotel, Hastings

No idea where the Sussex Hotel is, new to me! The Sussex Hotel (now Sussex House) isn't that far away from you Mr Hermit. Have a look round the back next time you're out for a walk along the seafront. https://www.1066online.co.uk/gallery/var/thumbs/old-photos/sussex-house.jpg?m=1471737063

Re: Hylands Hotel, Hastings

I wonder if it's listed and they're not allowed to touch those stable doors without planning permission? If not you would have thought that green paint would have gone long ago. Sussex Hotel has the area at the back, which I believe was used as a market in the Burton days. It has garages now so coul...

Re: Prince Albert without piercing!

So glad to see the Prince Albert statue back on show after too many years hidden away in the Alexandra Park Greenhouses. https://www.1066online.co.uk/gallery/var/thumbs/hastings-photos/prince-albert-statue-2018.jpg?m=1522004118 As for the piercing, unlikely he had one personally, but the connection ...

Re: Hylands Hotel, Hastings

Nice photo shoot Richard, well done.

Interesting the spelling of Hylands and Highlands.

We also have Highlands Gardens and Highlands Drive nearby. Plus Highlands Mansions in Pevensey Road, and a property called Little Highlands in Archery Road.

Re: Site Move to HTTPS

I've converted another big chunk of the website to https today. The photo gallery is done! To be honest this was my second attempt. I strated it a few months back and had to bail out because I couldn't dedicate enough time to get it finished. Just the contact forms to do now and then we should be 10...

Re: rechargeable batteries

You must have some great Hastings and St Leonards photos by now. It would be nice to publicise them in the gallery if you ever feel like showing off your photography skills with the general public ;) ps. I'm selling one of my photo printers next year if anyone's interested. When the time comes I wil...

Re: rechargeable batteries

From experience, there's a fall off. The more times you recharge them the less time they last before needing a recharge. The fall off becomes more rapid as they approach end of life. I would suggest you can recharge any of them 2100 times, but they would only last 10 minutes before needing a charge ...
