Re: Creativity you do like
Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most famous examples of the sfumato (Italian for “smoky”) technique in action, particularly around the subject's face. One notices the soft transitions between light and dark tones and the lack of hard edges. No eyebrows or eyelashes are evident and neith...

Re: Creativity you do like
Great images seahermit. The history of visual Art- fine art painting - from religious story-work depictions to bourgeois images of pleasing pictures is a legacy of course. Whistler, Constable and the French Impressionist went from the studio and tried and trusted copying of older styles to painting ...

Re: Spuds you don't like
The carrot family - I know them well!
Their tousled heads, their aromatic scents.
Parsnip and fennel are quite safe to eat.
Of the cow-parsnip (hog-weeds) be wary of Queen Anne's Lace, she appears pleasant enough in the meadow but may be a hemlock down by the water's edge.

Creativity you do like
Do you want to hear or see creativity for its own sake?
Or with a message attached?
Do we need to hear/see a message?
Does it make it more meaningful, this implies we are searching for something?
Or are content to seek pure enjoyment for the sheer pleasure alone?

Re: Spuds you don't like
Potatoes are a member of the Solanaceae family. Belladonna, 'deadly nightshade', mandrake, peppers and tobacco are members of this group. For potatoes in particular green skin, shoots/eyes contain concentrations of the toxin 'Solanine' which is considered a neurotoxin, and ingestion by humans can ca...

Re: Postal delivery services
When you order products you are most likely not able to choose the delivery service. The company you order from makes that choice. I ordered flooring amounting to many thousands of pounds but had to wait three days in a row for 'promised' delivery by their chosen agent. No time-window given that was...

Re: Postal delivery services
For small parcels Amazon locker at Morrisons is ideal. Ebay will send to local corner shops. From DHL I got the following: WE STOPPED BY Unfortunately, nobody was home to deliver your parcel to. Shipment number: 41872160003952 We really wanted to deliver your parcel by hand, but your DHL Parcel driv...

Postal delivery services
What is the worst postal delivery service you have experienced?
DHL are dreadful, they do nothing other than offer a date of delivery.
No time-slot.
No text/phone call in advance.
This means you have to be on standby all day incase they happen to chance along.

Re: At last - Wetherspoons
I sort of like 'Kassa', a good sea front location. But they want to grab your money before you receive the food. Don't they trust their customers to pay? The White Rock Hotel has a relaxed hotel atmosphere. Again they want money first. Never visited 'Bell Vista', 'The St. Clements' or 'Graze'. 'Port...

Re: At last - Wetherspoons
seahermit before you have a flight of fancy we are talking strictly about Hastings U.K. It is not like anywhere else. I don't know what restaurants on the seafront at St Leonards are 'excellent' popular and expensive, would you care to elaborate in some detail or even any detail? I mentioned the san...
