Re: Independence Day

At least Farage can be credited with starting the process to get us out of the EU aka United States of Europe, and for that the British people should be forever grateful. Corbyn on the other hand is a stigma on the once good name of Hastings. How could a decent proud town like Hastings even contempl...

Re: Independence Day

A solution to the "backstop". Ireland leave the EU!! About the only MP I can find who defied his party and voted with his constituents was Stephen LLoyd at Eastbourne. If we extend Article 50 will that mean the UK can participate in this years European Parliament Elections? If so we need N...

Re: Independence Day

Thanks for trying to answer my question. What we do know is that the country was split into Regions and in England only London voted Remain. I believe even Wales voted Leave, only Scotland, no surprise there, and NI voted Remain.

Re: Independence Day

I have never taken part in a demo or protest movement in all my 71 years. BUT that day is surely looming. Leavers have let democracy take its course whilst Remoaners have used every means at their disposal to get all the headlines over the past 30 months and reverse the decision that 17.4 million ci...

Hastings and East Sussex Sunday Football League

Does this still exist? I was secretary of Hastings 18 Plus FC later to become Crypton Dynamos. I was also on the League committee dispensing "justice" to clubs that infringed the rules. This would have been from circa 1967- 80. As Crypton Dynamos we arranged charity matches at the Pilot Fi...

Re: Time for a Change?

I don't think changing the clocks is a problem. We have done it for as long as I can remember, in fact it is an enjoyable seasonal ritual that heralds the end of summer or winter. I have just one clock and three watches so no big deal. Computers and phones change automatically. I actually enjoy the ...

Re: Bayeux Tapestry

I am shocked that in 2018 we are still celebrating the victory of those evil Normans who subjugated the indigenous population, stole their land and took many as slaves. It is about time that those awful street names were erased. No more William Road, Norman Road, Conqueror Road, Falaise Hall or Baye...

Re: Independence Day

It will be interesting indeed to see what comes out in the wash. I have a lot of sympathy for T. May and certainly she has a cooler head than many others who jumped ship in a rather childish knee-jerk reaction. Let the elected parliament decide the better way ahead, no second referendum and no gene...

Re: Independence Day

hey you three, how did your reasonable fairly intelligent debate regarding Brexit descend into insulting each other over the Salisbury incident. As a staunch Leaver I was really enjoying your Brexit debate, which was on the whole even handed.

Re: R. B. Hatfield

Was there a Mr French who held the French lessons? The only French master I recall was Ted Selman. Really nice bloke, and French to this day is the only foreign language that I can speak. Unfortunately I had to make the strange choice of Geography or French for my O levels. Geography with Ken Duly w...
