Hi everyone. My friend and I are trying to get a weekly coffee morning/social/ craft group formed. Just something where people can get together, chat, do crafts, maybe arrange other activities. At the moment , we are just seeing if we get any interest in this. We are both in our fifties,so if you are in that age group, and think you may be interested in coming to a group like that, please leave me a message on here. Thanks for reading this.

Hello Peggy
I'm surprised that no-one has replied. I think it's a great idea. I went to a club for retired people the other day but found that most people were sitting alone, no-one was talking and it was like walking into a mortuary. Very sad.
I'm in my late fifties and find it easy to meet people, but difficult to make friends. Just someone to have a cup of tea with would be nice. Let me know if you find any good places to go.
Kind regards

I know my mum would be interesting in getting together for a coffee and a chat! She's in her 50's and moved her a year ago. She's very sociable but really doesn't know where to start making friends for herself.
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated (especially by my dad!!)

Crafts hobbies and ideas therein sounds very interesting to me
Painting, jewelery- making, mosaics, ceramics, sculpture_ _ _. the list is endless
I heard of two places :-
1. "The Lighthouse" up at the top of "Whistler Steps"
2. The place near the public library for people with disability ?
Look forward to any meeting and talking about ideas with enthusiasm guaranteed !!

Hi Peggy, sounds a great idea! I'm nearly 50 (lol!) but coffee mornings, socials with the 'gals' (and that includes you Richard_ _ _ great ideas there!), plus the added bonus of crafts is right up my street :w00t: Would need to be a weekday evening for me or otherwise Saturday mornings as I work full time. Hope to hear from you soon!
p.s. would have replied sooner but couldn't remember my bloomin' password, doh!!

Hi
Only just found this site having moved to St Leonards just about a year ago and have made very few friends due to working full time. Guess its time to make more effort and craft chat coffee mornings sounds perfect. Guess as its been a while since you posted you might have abandoned the idea, hope not!
