schooling

Postby amy » Tue Apr 10, 2007 2:39 pm

Hi possibly looking to move to St Leonards from dartford in kent.
What is the schooling system there? we have 11 plus here and grammar schools, is it 13 plus or comps?
Are there any private schools other than Claremont?

And what are the best areas to live?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Amy

All the schools in this area are comprehensive. Other private Schools include Battle Abbey and Buckswood. I'm not sure of what other schools to tell you about as I don't know if you're looking for primary or secondary.
Like every town, Hastings and St Leonards has its nice areas and areas you want to avoid.

This is just me but I sent my children to Elphinstone Junior School for a while and I had to take them out due to bullying and the heads doing nothing about it.
It may of changed .. ???
I have 4 children, ages varying. Three Schools , my Kids did well at were Robsack In the Woods, Blacklands and Sandown.. I lived in Mount Pleasant Road and Church Road. so we had to change school, I did not drive until later.
I hope you have luck _ _ _
