Do you have any information about the former Hollington Park School at St Leonards on Sea?
It was a boarding school run by a Headmistress by the name of Ms Amos during the 60s and 70s.
I visited the area briefly in 2002 and found the school buildings mostly destroyed and the grounds a wilderness.
Does anyone know what happened?

I was a student at Hollington Park from 1965 to 1968. I was wondering when Susan Buller attended. I remember Miss Amos very well.

I recently joined "lostfriends.com" and found five former students who left Hollington Park between 1954 and 1976. One in 1954, two in 1966, (I left in 1967), and two others in 1968 and 1976.. For anyone who has an interest in contacting former students.

If you'd like to reconnect with former students I found friendsreunited, com to have alot of HPS people listed. I attended in the mid-late 60's and have found quite a few old friends. Good luck.

I attended HPS 1957-1959. Still have my school photo and can name many of the faces. The headmistress was Miss Beeforth. Miss Amos was her sidekick. What dragons we thought they were! I've just been googling former classmates' names with no success. Vivian, thanks for your tip. I remember the "nones" - very tiny servings in the dining room. We couldn't actually have "none." Some girls would spread their "none" around the plate and the clearer would try to slip it past matron.
Did you all have a "woolly horror"? Our pet name for the woollen bathing suit which actually probably did insulate us from the frigid water.
Breaking the rules (and they were numerous): going out of bounds, eating green chestnuts, holding the bannister, talking after lights out, polishing the wooden toilet seat at Castlemaine if we were caught.
Ah, those were the days!
