St Leonards Festival

Postby kd » Wed Jun 10, 2009 1:02 am

Why isn't the St Leonards Festival advertised properly anywhere? I only stumbled across it recently and considering it's only a month away there was very little info or publicity - are the organisers shy? How long has it been going? Any good?

Well, the lack of response doesn't surprise me as I can find very little info at all!

Unfortunately I'm working on the 11th but my girlfriend's going to be there. It sounds like fun, in its fouth year so I spose it must've been popular!!?

Also looking forward to the beer festival!!

I went to the first one. It was pretty good, plenty of cultural music, stalls and bands. Hopefully i'll make it to this year's one, it must be getting bigger each year.

I think alcohol free is the way to go, especially as it's in the daytime and in St Leonards. It's not exactly Reading but it's pretty good. Just be open minded and you should enjoy.

If the festival wasn't publicised that's probably becaused they expected plenty of visitors anyway. Excellent if they don't even need to advertise to pull in enough people.

I went this year and it was great. As Marina mentioned it's hardly a Reading or Glastonbury substitute, but for St Leonards it's really quite good and caters for many cultures. Plently of food stands etc and live music all day/evening. Weather wasn't bad either!

It's on the 16th July this year! I've been for the past two years and it's been brilliant!! Everyone's had fun and part of its attraction for families and residents is that it is alcohol free.
One tiny downside was that there was no parade last year and it doesn't look like there'll be one this year either, which is a shame because the kids and the costumes were great fun_ _ _ (but I guess that did take HEAPS of organizing!).

This festivals is amazing it is the heart of this city. This celebration is of 100 years of the St Leonards Progress Association and it is continued cooperation with the Bellarine Art Show. so it was a classical as well as dancing and other way it is so much popular and it is amazing to visit it.

I have heard from a secret source that there will be no St Leonards Festival in 2013. Outrageous if confirmed to be the case.
