As Hastings holds the world record currently it is termed 'unofficial' but it will go ahead anyway:
Sunday July 26 is Pirate Day in Hastings although no record-breaking attempts will be made this year, it is still expected that there will be plenty of ‘swash-bucklers’ around town and the Old Town, on the day, with a variety of events taking place, centred on Winkle Island.

Yep, looks to be a wash-out. You just can't plan anything with UK weather.
