Rainbow Restaurant, Sturdee Place

We waited half an hour for our food, despite people entering after us not only being served but having nearly finished their meal. When I asked the eastern European waitress how long we would have to wait, she simply shrugged her shoulders. We then left without paying (we had had our drinks in this time), and then the manager of the restaurant followed us down the street, blocked himself in front of my baby's buggy, and threatened to 'lay me out'.
I immediately contacted the police who dealt with the matter and it was clear that the proprietor was known to them, as they advised us against letting him have our contact details. This [--] man was rude and aggressive, and all this to a family with two young children who were simply dissatisfied with the appalling service.
There are many restaurants along the promenade so please do avoid this one like the plague, and utterly shocking place with a sad and aggressive little owner who failed miserably to get one over on us.

We have been to this tea-room fairly often, but today will be the final visit. Don't assume it's cuddly and welcoming from the jolly knitted cakes; it's rude, humourless, uncomfortable and expensive.

On approaching the counter the bloke behind it said to me "Sorry, we're fully booked". His manner was the sort people adopt when they think you should know something without asking and not make impertinent enquiries.

However (thinking it was one of their much-vaunted meals-from-a-famous-cookery-book) I said "Oh, are you taking bookings?" He snarled "No, but anyway WE ARE FULL!"

There were a lot of people in there, certainly, but the message seemed to be that me and my companion were not welcome, despite having been there so often before and having spent money on their rather costly and mediocre cakes (dry and rubbery).

As he did not mind humiliating me I thought he would be up for the same back, so I said loudly "What appalling rudeness" as I left, so the people eating rather gruesome gravy lunches of two veg and meat slab had the opportunity of an encore gawp.

You'd think people would be grateful to have work at all. Prat.
