Good removals company?

Postby Fiji5007 » Tue Aug 09, 2011 8:03 pm

Hi all,

Has anyone used a Removals company who they'd recommend?
I'm looking for a reliable, friendly, efficient company which doesn't cost the earth - recommendations that fit the bill would be very gratefully received, thankyou!

Try Andersons_ _ __ _ _.The best money I have ever spent .Very reasonable ,although it was 11 years ago, very professional.

Nothing was damaged and they were very tidy too

Good removals company?

Hello again,

I'm gathering quotes for removals Co's now (including Andersons) and am in the process of getting a quote from a company called 'Express Removals'.

I thought it might be worth checking with forum users if anyone has any experience of using this company and what they thought of them? They seemed ok when they came round, but if there are any horror stories regarding them it'd be useful to know!

By the way I can now recommend from personal experience, a great solicitors - 'Janet Sindon and Co', based in St Leonards. We used them for buying a property and I'd heartily recommend them - friendly, easily contactable, efficient, great communication, as well as being all round nice. Also a little cheaper than some.

Hmmm_ _ _ we had a bad experience with putting our house contents into storage with Anderson's. Senior staff friendly and helpful, yes, but some of the 'minions' seemed not be able to read, or perhaps to speak English (or at least understand instructions). Stuff was boxed up pretty much at random and poorly labelled, so we had no idea what was what (we are still unpacking boxes and being surprised by the contents!). Things were taken for storage that we had asked not to be taken, which made life very complicated. And when we came to get our stuff back out of storage after 5 months, the company had been dissolved and re-formed so they did not honour the original quote and charged us DOUBLE. And when returning the stuff to us, boxes were put in the wrong rooms more or less at random. Not happy at all - sorry.

If a removals company or courier services has been recommended by Anyvan, they will have a coloured star behind their name for a continued good service to its clients.
