Postby Richard » Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:32 am

Autumn is coming and the spiders are getting fat !!

anyone know a good (commercial) source of logs (not the local wood)
also which are the best type to burn?

some say Ash, others Apple, or does Cherry smell the sweetest?

Hi Richard

One of my customers does logs. Free local delivery with a GBP40 order.

Glowing Grates Fuels

I am sure they would only stock the ones best for bruning.

Hi,
this isn't exactly about logs, but is about trying to keep warm!
I recently found out about a government incentive to encourage people to insulate their houses.
If you're unemployed/pension age/on benefits etc (and own your own home) they'll inject your cavity walls for free to insulate them.
Even if you're in none of those catagories, they'll pay about 60% plus of the fees to have your walls insulated. It doesn't end up costing too much and really makes a difference to your warmth/heating bills.
If anyone wants to find out more, just google cavity wall insulation and government and you should find the info.
