Great Coffee in Hastings

Postby Richard » Wed Jul 20, 2016 6:19 pm

Forget about the 'chain' shops like Costa, Nero, etcetera at £2.50 a cup for milky mediocrity.
For £1.50 you can try much superior coffee and see some 'retro' antiques, if you want to, across the road from Morrisons and 100 yards or so to the south:

Grand Rue De Pera
73-74 Queens road Hastings

Worth a visit and not crowded with noise and bustle.

I am told that the cappucino in the Weatherspoon pub is pretty good and cheap too. It doesn't need swanky surroundings to make decent coffee, just someone who takes the trouble to do ut properly.

I went to the Roomz recently, was charged £2 for a teabag dumped into a mug with a separate pot of hot water. How can a cafe not even know how to make tea properly; with boiling water (breaks down the tea and makes it infuse)? I could make good tea when I was a child! And the singer was rubbish, she sounded like a cat being strangled!

I stopped having cappucino as it was half froth - what's the point?
