Wouldn't you know it?

Postby cerberus » Sat Nov 30, 2019 7:28 am

The mad-dog psycho on London Bridge yesterday was out on parole.

But this is where it falls down - the security forces could have incontrovertible evidence that an atrocity is about to take place, but can't do anything about it until it takes place. How stupid is that?

Stop spreading false propaganda. The police and security services have the power and do intercept and stop potential actions when they have the evidence to do so.
At this time that you spread your own bile you seem to forget the victims who lost their lives and those who were injured. We must also give our thoughts to the brave members of the public who did what they could, either to shelter people fleeing from the scene or to disarm the man and take him to the ground

Despite any differences of opinion on this site, contributors do not use the swear word in your last sentence. Stop it

When this 'gentleman' was sentenced to prison for his part in a plot to blow
up the stock exchange the judge said (and I paraphrase) 'he is a serious threat
to the public with a serious jihadist agenda'. He then gave Khan an indeterminate sentence.
The Appeals Court, in their wisdom, quashed that sentence and imposed one of 16 years and
because of the crazy system we have he was out after half that. He had to wear a tag but that
really is just to ensure that he stays in at night - sensible that because everyone knows that
terrorists only commit their acts at night.

Before anyone tells me I cut his original offences down - it was to make the
post a little shorter. He was convicted of plotting, with others, of blow up the stock exchange AND several other sites AND of killing Boris Johnson, who was London mayor at that time.

Why can't convicted foreign terrorists, who have clearly disrespected the laws of the country that they have chosen to live in, be stripped of their citizenship and deported?
The job of the home secretary is to protect the public.
They may have certain legal rights but don't we have rights not to be killed or put in great danger?

Richard, the immigration laws permit the courts to deport foreign nationals, who have rights to remain in the UK, and deprived of their status, if convicted of serious offences after serving their sentence.

This govt is in the process of stripping British nationality of British people who are not citizens of other countries! That is the state of knee-jerk Home Secretaries. That is not permitted under United Nations provisions of making a person stateless and is currently being adjudicated.

The Home Office under all govts regularly deports foreign nationals who commit serious crimes. However the HO has been in a state of chaos despite the former Home Sec Mrs May being in office for several years she achieved very little and there have been 7 Justice Ministers in the last 9 years. A recipe stagnation. Prisons are overcrowded, shortage of staff , prisoners locked in cells for most of the day leading to boredom frustration and violence in short periods of recreation
