Never known a new thread to garner so much interest and go all round the houses, gathering in so many interesting topics!!

To return to technology, I have just read that a slightly improved version of the retro Nokia 3310 was issued last September (passed me by). But a new 4G version is under development, may appear on the market in 2018. It is expected to handle WhatsApp, FB etc. (cut down versions).

Loading the phone with too many apps would of course rather defeat the original purpose of it being a basic phone, so I'm sceptical ..

In any case, I have already managed to check my Gmail and even FB on my current 3310 - very handy if you are desperate sometimes and an amazing feat on such a tiny old-fashioned device!
