EU brinkmanship

I have had enough of the latest deadlines and failures and nonsense.

It is surely apparent by now that we have a huge amount of history under our belt, fighting trade wars, religious wars, and seeking alliances, often based on marriages between royal families, in France or Spain, down through the centuries.
At least with the Vikings we could pay Dane-geld (silver) and they would leave us alone and rape and pillage elsewhere.
The EU wanted our money and the right to change many of or laws and sovereign matters.
Our sovereign powers are very dear to us and we would not wish, or allow, foreign powers to usurp them.
Just pay them off and tell them to keep their noses out of our business.
