Hi im relocating to the st leonards (hollington) from brighton in 2 weeks. I am finding it very difficult to find a job. Im 29 and although i have worked in childcare most of my career i have recently been doing shop floor factory work which i enjoy, mainly for the banter!. I am willing to give anything a go.

Anyway back to the point, i have applyed for many jobs and have also sent my c.v to various places on the off chance. With no luck. So i was wondering if anybody can let me know about the state of employment in the hastings area. Is umemployment high?.

I look forward to hearing from anyone and apart from the job situation im really looking forward to moving here.

Thank You.

hi, cheryl. un-employment is quite high, unless you want to get in the care sector. try support workers jobs, or care assistants. i know there is a demand for these jobs..only problem with these jobs, can be unsociable hours at times. hope this helps good luck

Make sure your CV is relevant to the job you apply for (change bits to make it more relevant to a particular job)
National Careers Service are very useful:

https://nationalcareersservice.direct.g ... s/Home.asp

you may have to google if the link is out of order

As for Hastings an jobs - it's not really good except for Insurance

Saga and Hastings Direct and (as mentioned) Carer jobs (Primecare?)

all the best

There are jobs in the nursing and old peoples homes areas,if you are a carer or a nurse you will be fine.
