Fire and Emergency Support Service - Hastings

Postby MorganMead » Tue May 20, 2014 4:31 pm

To all 1066 locals: The Hastings Fire and Emergency Support Service (FESS), which is a local service run by the British Red Cross, has just opened up its recruitment opportunities for 2014.

Operating from Bohemia Road Fire Station, FESS is fully staffed by volunteers who work on-call, and go out in a specially equipped vehicle alongside East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service. The community team provides practical and emotional support to people who have found themselves homeless following a fire or similar incident.

It's an exciting rapid response service, and the opportunity to join the on-call team and receive full Emergency Response training is now open for the next month to Hastings locals and those from the wider local area.

Those who are interested in volunteering for the service are urged to email the Service Coordinator:, or call the Kent and Sussex volunteering team on 0800 028 0831.
