Hmmm, more crashing issues with Firefox. Seems the newer versions are quite buggy. I stopped using it as I get a black screen freeze after an hour or so when using Firefox on a dual monitor PC. Shame as it used to be the best browser due to the array of available plugins.

Geoff & Richard
The problems you are both referring to could be one or more outdated “addons” check for updates via “Tools”....”Addons” then by clicking on
Capture.PNG
Capture.PNG (1.46 KiB) Viewed 4680 times
select update.

If not fixed, then start Firefox with the addons disabled. To do this click the help tab then select “restart with addons disabled” If everything works ok then its most likely a problem with one or more addons. To eliminate which one/s restart each addon one at a time. Then if it starts to freeze / hang, you know which the last addon was that crashed.

If you are getting a blank page with a spinning throbber (endless loading) and not an error. You may be able to tell from the progress message above the bottom frame of the browser which server is failing to deliver. This may not be consistent, but if you notice a pattern it could be relevant.
Many websites use shared resources such as the Facebook like button, the Google +1 button, ad networks, etc; etc;. If one of those stalls it can block the entire page. So if you see a message such as “Read + url” or” Waiting for url” over the bottom of the page when this happens, it could help diagnose the problem.

Hope this may be of some help to you guy’s.

thanks for the detailed reply, Kevin.
I just suspected some sort of memory issues (I have 32 bit OS with 2 GB ram) as I did sometimes see "mozilla is taking too long to load" at the bottom of the page.

I will check out your advice later as these intermittent issues are tiresome.
"Spinning Throbber" is an apt epithet :)

You may also try deleting your browsers cache if its not been done for sometime in order to speed up web browsing. You should periodically clear the cache to allow your browser to function more efficiently.

To do this in Mozilla browser as follows

1. Click the Three Lines icon in the top right of your browser.
2. Select History, then select Clear Recent History.
3. Select the time range to clear (drop-down menu).
- Select the beginning of time to clear all cache.
4. Click Details to choose what history elements to clear.
5. Make sure Cache and Offline Website Data is checked and any other elements you want to clear.
6. Click the Clear Now button.

Tried that but still getting the intermittent screen-freeze and warnings about 'FlashPlayer' or other influences at play.
