As a sort of twin thread to "Best mobile networks in the Old Town" I thought some of my experience and info garnered might be useful.
I was told this week that Three have had difficulty getting permission for a mast in the Old Town, hence lack of a signal there. The mast in St Leonard's was damaged by the gales, partially repaired but still problematic, finally repaired last Saturday. My signal seems just fine atlast - touching wood furiously. Three customer sejrvice seems above average, friendly and efficient, and their terrifs have been slashed.
I have been in Hastings area for 14 years - found the Orange coverage to be good almost everywhere but their tarrifs have suddenly got expensive and the customer service dire, amongst the worst. Maybe just hope you are the lucky one with few problems!
I did have some problems with Vodafone's signal, around the Mercatoria area of St L. and strangely out in the countryside eastwards towards Rye - trying to use Google maps was murder at times . Otherwise their customer service is good and efficient, and reasonable tarrifs.
The only other thing I can contribute is that Tesco Mobile gets some appalling reviews on the internet. Tesco of course are piggybacking onto O2's network and there were some comments about patchy coverage.
