St Leonards or Hastings proper?

Postby jill » Tue Dec 28, 2004 9:33 pm

we'll be stopping down there in May, which is the better place to stay, St L or Hastings?

the beach at Hastings looks nice, is it expensive to stay on the beachfront, given that there are any BandBs, hotels, etc facing the beach?

we're looking to stay 2 nights, would like something interesting but not $$$$

thanks ever so much! appreciate any advice, recommendations, etc!

Avoid at all costs St Leonards, your best bet would be the Old Town area

Take a look at our Hotels page, The Chatsworth and the White Rock Hotel are on Hastings seafront and not too pricey. The Royal Victoria is on St Leonards seafront but a bit more expensive. You do get what you pay for though, in my opinion.

Try the cottages on Stay-in-Sussex
they cover most of the area and many are pet friendly.
