Often have I mused on the potential parallels among people in Hastings and those depicted in somewhat dark dreams in "Under Milk Wood" by Dylan Thomas.
There is to be a reading of this famous satirical endeavour in St Clements Church, High Street - 19:30 to 21:00 on Wed, 30th Jul 2014.

Old Town Carnival Week - Under Milk Wood -
Re: Old Town Carnival Week - Under Milk Wood -
Richard - thanks for the link.
I love Under Milk Wood and it is ages since I heard it read. I shall definitely go. Do you know who is reading it?
Looks like there are plenty of other events to look forward to as well. I like the sound of the Hidden Hastings Revealed walk, and the Brewery Tour, and the Organ Concert, and the free Beach Concert, and ... gosh loads of things! I will have to take a week off from work.
I so love living here, there is so much going on and so many interesting things to discover about Hastings and St Leonards.

HollyBlue Hello,
I don't know yet who is reading the work.
I wonder if it was done also as a Welsh version?
As an aside:
I do know people from N.Wales have to be careful when they speak to people from S.Wales as the meaning or 'interpretation' of what is said can depend on the stress placed on words and offence can easily be taken, unless you are very careful, and at the back of all that there is still a silly age-old rivalry between some Welsh men from down in the Valleys and the mountain boys.
