Re: Local History Groups
Hi Felicity, I too am very interested in learning about local history. This is why I started writing the history section for this site. I try to add any interesting snippets as I learn them for all to read. If you find anywhere I would be interested in going along too.

It's such an interesting Town, with a wealth of colourful history behind it. I will keep an eye out for clubs/ groups. Perhaps you could consider starting one??

Re: Local History Groups
I am wondering about the location of Tedder Terrace. I remember the name of this street from the time when I lived in Hastings, but cannot recall its situation.
I should be most grateful if someone can let me know whether the street is still in existence and, if so, where I might find it. Otherwise, if it has been demolished I should be interested to know when this happened.
Many thanks

Re: Local History Groups
Tedder Terrace is in Ore Village on Rock lane, Go to the bottom of Churchill Ave and turn right and youre there. It is still there and will be for a lot longer as these are relatively modern houses compared to most of Hastings. Built after the last War and named after Heroes of that era as was the rest of that Council estate:- Churchill, Mountbatten, Montgomery, Tedder. It was a great area to live in the 60's especially for Kids. Coghurst woods, the iron bridge, The playing fields and Rocks Farm for scrumping.

Re: Local History Groups
Thank you for your quick response. The location you gave was not the one, that one is called something very close to that . The Tedder Terrace I recall was somewhere in the Clive Vale area. Any information would be very well received.
Re: Local History Groups

Re: Local History Groups
Am I right in thinking the spoil from the viaduct gap at the top of Queens Road was dumped at the top of Havelock road?
This will have to be re-shifted when all the proposed building starts on the University site. Hmmm. Hastings certainly gets moved around.
