bars and restaurants

Hi wondering if anyone can advise me on some good bars and restaurants in either Hastings or St Leonards?
Have weekend place to stay but not sure of best areas to go yet.

my fav pub is the London Trader in the old town if you want good music and bustling atmosphere..gets busy though_ _ _

Porters is good for old fashioned food, Simply Italian superb for a nice long lunch _ _ _.. and the Wild Mushroom a really nice evening experience_ _ _

To be honest, Hastings although small has excellent live music and a good night life.. always something going on from heavy rock bands, 50's rock'n'roll, Cover Bands and easy listening musicans_ _ _

So I take it the old town is where the majority of the good bars and restaurants are?

Will try and have a good look at them at the weekend!
