I think it was the East Kent 128 from Pett Level - subsequently became M and D 170 after the depot on The Ridge closed.
Tell you what though; tell me the answer if I'm wrong and I'll make it one of my routes around the town if I get myself organised to bring my preserved M and D Leyland Leopard to The oval this year_ _ _

Thanks for the answers, but the route in question was the local Hastings circular route 76, I drove it myself so I know it's true ! Of course, a few road cha nges today but this is how it was then. Start of route was at theBriers,Sedlescombe Rd.North, then on to Silverhill, Sedlescombe Rd.South, Pevensey Rd. and then the ONLY right turn into London Rd. From Christ Church straight down to seafront, ( no left turn THEN into Norman Rd), along seafront and the left turn in to Harold Place. Then straight across the Memorial, (as it was then} and into Queens Rd. Starting off again, up Queens Rd, St.Helens Rd and left turn at Briers. Total route time was 30 minutes, after 3 hours of it you were almost giddy. Sorry it' s a long winded answer and maybe slighly misleading, but it it's true.
