Statue

Postby Allen » Sat Mar 12, 2016 3:18 pm

I was on one of my infrequent visits to Hastings today. While walking through the Priory Meadow Centre I noticed that the cricketer statue has gone. The Observer website says that it was hit by a fork-lift truck. Anyone know when it will be back?

Unbelievable that this happened in November and nobody noticed:

"The bat had to be sawn off to fit it in the removal van", you couldn't make it up if you tried.
Sounds like Laurel & Hardy were let loose, what a bunch of baboons !!

I believe that the ball is still embedded in the wall above the jewellery shop though!

Nice one Derek :D

I think the famous statue was called 'The Spirit of Cricket'.
Legendary Ozzie, Don Bradman, played in Priory Meadow and scored a Century there in an undefeated tour of England in 1948, rain ended the match in a draw.
