Fountain Picture

Postby karen ward » Tue Jan 06, 2004 10:47 pm

My grandmother was born in Hastings and lived there until she married, when she moved to St Leonards. She stayed there fot another 40 years, and has recently died. My grandfather (who passed away 30 years ago) was an engineer, and helped to build the water fountain in Hastings, which, I believe is not there any more. I am trying to find a picture of the fountain. Can you please suggest where else I might look? Many thanks.

Hi Karen

There are currently two fountains on Hastings Seafront, one at White Rock where the old Victorian Baths once were, and another forms the middle of a roundabout on the way to the old town. As for what fountains previously existed I really don't know, hopefully someone else will read this and give us some more information.

Hope this helps

Geoff
