Calling community groups to get involved with internationall

[Rob Eagles]

Of the UK's most exciting theatre companies 'Wildworks' (an offshoot of Kneehigh Theatre) will be coming to Hastings in August 2006 to perform their new peice 'Souterrain' at the Grove School.

The piece will be a site specific, promenade event based on the story of Orpheus in the Underworld, a narrative which expresses the universal themes of love and loss and, as with most stories of death, a passionate celebration of life

We are looking for local artists and community groups who want to get involved in the performance. The perfromance requires groups from all areas, whether its cake making, skateboarding, singing or dancing. If you want to get involved, we want to hear from you.

To express an interest or for more information you can contact Rob Eagles at Zap Art on rob.eagles@zapuk.com or telephone 01273 821588

Wild Works Souterrain had its world premiere at this years Streets of Brighton, part of Brighton Festival in May. The story was set in Stanmer Park and village , a charming and picturesque, yet declining rural village. The show received 4 stars from the Independent : a visual and musical feast but also a moving testament to the resilience of a small community under threat.
