my mum has moved to the old town area of hastings and is looking for group, coffee mornings or activities for the over 50's, she is divorced and wants to make new friends in the area

Hi Jan. I read your post, and although I'm afraid I'm not much help, just wanted to say that I am in a similar position to your mum.We moved to St. Leonards 6 months ago, but due to physical problems after having an operation just after we came here, I haven't been able to get out and about much, am now looking for ways of meeting other people.I am 59. I don't know what sort of things your mum is interested in, but I have found a sewing group, where people just meet, and take their projects with them, to do,and just chat and have coffee. That is the last Saturday of each month in St. Leonards, from 10 am. for however long people want to stay, until 4.pm I haven't got around to going yet, but I know where it is. The church on the Marina in St. Leonards, also has a coffee morning every Saturday from 10am to 12 pm.
