Palace Chambers

I lived right at the top of this building for about a year. It is beautiful inside and out. We used the lovely old fashioned lift to get to the third floor then did the windy stairs up to our room. Beautiful views from all rooms.

In its hey day it would have been a wonderful building. Even up until the 1970s it had a reasonably kept exterior. I passed by in the summer and it is unfortunately looking more derelict. I assume that the freeholders have not been willing - or indeed able to maintain it. The problem of freehold and leasehold flats is one that both government and opposition are committed to reforming.
I was pleased to see that Pelham Cres was undergoing some refurbishment.
