Spitfire over Hastings

Postby Richard » Fri Dec 06, 2019 10:53 am

I saw a spitfire accompanied by two jets and another plane photographing the event, anyone else witness the flyover yesterday afternoon?

Being up north I did not see it. More interest for me is the young ages of the aircrews. There are several Commonwealth War Grave sites near me in Northumberland with graves of young crew many of whom died during training rather than combat. Youngsters of 19 or so from Canada NZ and Aussie many of whom might not even have learnt to drive. We owe them a great debt and remembrance of their courage.

What society do our young people have today in which the greatest desire for many is to be 'famous' for being in a jungle or love Island, or Brother house?
We should be able to do better than this
