Gerrish family

Seeking information or relatives of Mr. W Gerrish and family formerly of Brithdir in the Rhymney Valley of South Wales who I believed moved to Hastings in the mid 1930s.

There is a Gerrish listed in the local phone directory_ _ _

I remember a Mrs Gerrish use to live at bottom flat, 29 Milward Road, Hastings during the early 1970s. She was very old and used to dress very old fashioned in black.

This appears to be Ivy Gerrish,married to Reginald ? they were in Milward Road from about the 1940's previously at 72 Braybrooke in 1939,she seems to have died in 1973..William Gerrish lived in Priory Street in 1939 and after the war was at 93 Bexhill Road_ _ _Frank Gerrish (son ?)seems to have moved around a lot,67 Vicarage Rd in 1950,48 Rock Lane in 1952,46 Churchill Rd in 1960 and then 13 Linley Drive..The latest phone book does not have any Gerrish listed..does not mean much as many go private or have mobiles..If there were any family it is possible they moved to greener pastures. onwards and upwards, at least in theory..

I worked with a Roger Gerrish in around 1979; he was a lorry driver for Crew Davis Builders merchants. At that time he lived - if I remember correctly - along Lower Park Road.
