A number of points from this forum.

My brother Tony rode occasionally for the Ridge Eagles. He wasn't a regular but he made aluminium covers to fit to the rear wheel of his cycle to stop the problem of pedals getting into the spokes. It could be a little rough on the corners.

The name of the area where the track was built was (phonetically speaking) Arvi Tarvi.

I remember a meet at the Hastings Saxon's Track at Elphinstone Road when the top prize of a new bycicle was won by Derek Barton who lived on the Ridge next door to my Gran at No.71.

I tried to contact Derek Barton when the Reunion of The Bourne and Uplands Technical School convened in 2002. Are you still out there Derek?
