Re: Desmond johnstone
I don't know if this is your D. Johnstone but back in the 1970's a Mr D. L. Johnstone lived at 20 Magdalen Road, St Leonards
Re: Desmond johnstone
Not sure? What age would he be now? I do have either his year of birth as 1942 or 1945?
Re: Desmond johnstone
My Kelly's Directories of 1972 and 1974 gives his address as number 21 Magdalen Road. Given his age 70 years do you think he is still around ?
Re: Desmond johnstone
Not sure, but if not I would still like to know what happened to him a d if I might have any other family out there?.
Re: Desmond johnstone
I have discovered a Desmond johnstone from the right area and have looked on scotlands people for desmond johnstones born between 1940 to 1950 in Scotland and there was only 2 one in 1945 which was my uncle. I have got the salvation army looking for him and they have came up with a Desmond johnstone on the same birthdate but 1942 born in auchenlich? (my uncle came from auchinleck). Also states his middle names but I don't know if he had any? But this person has unfortunately died in 1999. Last known address 4 st Matthews gardens st Leonard's. I am not sure of the geography? Like I say I have very little to go on I'd just like to know if we had any family out there too as well as finding my uncle.
Re: Desmond johnstone
St.Mathews gardens is not very far from Magdalen Road so it is most likely the same person. Both these addresses are divided into flats. Why not check with the local births and deaths office at Hastings ?.
Re: Desmond johnstone
I have checked deaths and I have a Desmond Anthony lee johnstone 26th march 1942?_ _ _has year of birth was 1945 and place of birth was auchenlich but he was from auchinleck born in irvine. But it does look too similar to be not him? I'm not sure, what would ur opinion be? I was thinking that the information might not be exactly accurate as this person lived alone in a flat and the coroner had to register the death as he does not appear to have any immediatel family?
