I have the same request and related to Ann Rosemary Deacon (maiden name) who I believe was affected by the incident.
I need to find her before it is too late.
Can you please help me.
Ann had a friend called Meeta Purcell/Patel
Ann trained at RESH
She never returned after 1963
I need to find her

Cuddlermum/Jo: could we contact you personally about your search for the (possibly) Indian national you mention in your post? The information possibly matches ours.

Re: Royal east Sussex hospital nurses from 1957 onwards
Update --- I now know that I am looking for a Sri Lankan doctor who was at the RESH in 1967.
Any information anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone can confirm the name and address of the doctors' accommodation that would help please.
Thanks in advance.
Johanna

Hi, this is a reply to Molly Malone. Yes do please contact me. I have tried to send you a PM but it is just sitting in my outbox, along with another message I sent another member a while ago. I can't work out how to "send" the message.
If anyone can help i would be grateful.
Thanks
Jo

I spent 3 months in Ward 4, from Sept. to Dec. 1963
I remember , Sister ROSEWELL, Staff Nurses Ann HILL & Barbara CHILD, Student nurses as follows: Joan AMES, Karin KREIGER, Patricia MULARNEY, Carol MUMFORD?, Jo HICKS, Carol EVANS, and A lady who worked the early evenings wearing 'Red Cross' uniform and always called "Corpy". I hope this helps.
Just to follow up. I heard later that Patricia MULARNEY moved to Jo'burg in South Africa where she married. And Karin KREIGER, (whose father was a Doctor in her hometown of Hamburg Germany) with her family emigrated to Canada.
I cannot however confirm either as being true.

Is no one moderating this forum? I put an item up a week ago (I'm a newbie) was told it would have to be approved before publishing. And nothing has happened since ! Please advise.
Thank you !

Further update: - I now believe that the doctor was Malaysian by nationality, but Sri Lankan ethnically. He may have been in Hastings for around six months in late 1967. He may have been living in the doctors' home in Holmesdale Gardens. He had a friend whom he socialised with (pubs, private members clubs in the town) who was also was Sri Lankan/Malaysian, this friend may have been a doctor too. If anyone can remember anything along these lines, I would be very grateful to hear. Thank you, Jo
