Does anyone remember the Colorwave photo lab which closed around 1989/90? I have some photo's which have all the staff in them, and although i can remember some names, some i simply can't. My name's Caroline and i was a processor. Other names i can recall are Graham, the owner, Paul, Lynn, Mark, Rose, Jason and maybe Debbie? Wonder what you are all doing now? Good fun working there but seems a lifetime ago now!

Yes, I do remember it, used to be in the little passageway between Grove Road and Winchelsea Road, joined the two roads at the bottom with the alleyway (We used to call Dog**it Alley  ) that ran up behind the houses in Grove Road and Winchelsea Road. Apart from the sign above the door we had no idea what went on inside!

According to Hastings Chronicle:

1990 Early June – The Colorwave photographic processing laboratory on the Churchfield industrial estate closed, losing 21 jobs.

When I was talking about would have been mid to late 1970's, long before Churchfields was built, so they must have moved up there in later years.

Either way it sounds like 'Colorwave' were a fast-photo-processing outfit who were successful for a while in Hastings.
Doubtless Tesco, Boots and other dedicated photo labs like Bonusprint and Truprint began to dominate that arena and 'Colorwave' could not compete.

Saw this advert in a copy of CB Magazine from 1981. Which incidentally is around the last time I was in Hastings.
