George Cumming Gray (1865-1963)

Would be interested to know if any older members remember George Cumming Gray, an ex-Invernessian who lived at 6 Warrior Gardens, St. Leonard's on Sea in the 1930s-1960s, and the Clyne Hall Hotel in Bexhill-on-Sea.

He died in Oaklands Nursing Home, Old Roar Road in 1963 aged 98. His first wife was Amy. We don't know his second wife's name, but she died a fortnight before him. There were no children from either marriage. In his working life he was company secretary in a financial house in London.

He wrote many historical articles on old Inverness for the local Inverness newspapers over the years, and we have a large collection of his letters and reminiscences. We intend to publish these into a book; and we have brief obituary details, but what we don't have is a photograph of him.

It's a long shot, but wondering if there might be anyone who remembers him, or can provide a photo (even amongst a group or works gathering).

Thank you for reading.

Adrian
