irresponsible dog owners

Postby Donna Mclean » Mon Apr 18, 2005 10:12 pm

The amount of dog mess in st leonards is disgusting. you have to avoid the piles of it walking up charles rd,as people taking their dogs to the park let them do it on the path and dont clean it up.Do we see any dog wardens? no.

I agree with you. But as a responsible dog owner myself, there isn't much you can do to police the matter

The worst thing that happened was the removal of the dog licence,it should be at least GBP100 per dog per annum, this would help sort the real dog lovers from the rest.

being a responceable dog owner my self and a pensioner I do agree where are the dog warden around the town. I dont like stepping into those stools myself and it does bot take much for us to clean up after our pets. yes in some respects i agree to a dog licence but being a pensioner it would be outragous to charge that amount per annum as it is as much as having a car on the road and there are more than enough of those who don't pay road tax and they cause more havoc than dogs parking on pavements

I'm not a dog person myself but the way I see it, there's just as much human mess by way of used needles, litter, broken bottle etc on the street as there is dog mess. People need to clean up their own mess first. The the rest may fall into place! >:)

White poo was because people fed their dogs on a healthy diet o butchers scraps an bones in the 1970's bigchris_ _ _non o this pedigree scum stuff that dogs are fed nowadays. White poo from bone fed dog just crumbles like chalk. No shoe scrapping then.

Bag it an bin it folks.

A license fee proportionate to the calibre of the dog might work. :x

i truly think there should be some kind of register. When i lived in Reading i caught a guy leaving mess out side my house (dog not him) and asked if he would like a bag, he replyed "no". So not knowing wot to do i ended up following him to his house and reported him to the local council.Dont know if he got fined but it never happen again out side my house. When living in Oxford i couldnt work out who was leaving mess out the front so i made a massive sign(quite rude) and next morning the sign had gone but yet again it stopped. The owners probably just go a differnt way now now but at least it wasnt my daughter taking it to school with her.Since being hear iv not had this trouble but i expect thats because Dog Sh8t lane is down the road and most take there dogs there and i do believe its cleaned every other day so im quite dog sh8t free around me.lol
