what i think of my home town!!

Postby georgi » Mon Dec 05, 2005 6:00 pm

i lived in st lenoards untill i was 2 i then moved to hastings wellington road on the west hill untill i was 13 i am now living in bexhill so not to far away i travel to hastings on the train most weekends to see friends or do a bit of shopping. what i dont understand is why are little town of hastings gets knocked?? its lovly i was brought up in this town and have never had a problem.
for parents who want to send there kids to schol in the area i would strongly recomend st marys star of the sea in st lenoards and for secondary schols st richards in bexhill is for sure the best pick up any paper and you will see the results are top in the area there is free transport avaliable to people who live over two miles away, there is no problem with bullying the community is close and safe so no doubt there :) :w00t:

I cant say that I agree. Having moved away from Hastings 5 years ago I regularly visit friends in the area. It is when you dont live there that you realise just what a run down, backwards kind of place it is. There is no vision to make the most of the Town whihc could be great and seems that the council are just interested in seeing how many pubs they can open to keep the 'people' happy.
There are nice times ie Bank holidays, Carnival etc but believe me mate try going anywhere else and see the difference!!

Sometimes i'm proud to be from Hastings, but when i drive through some of the deprived areas of the town i'm ashamed. :(

I lived in hastings in 1990-91. It was the most run down and depressing town I have lived in. How anybody would want to live in such a pit is beyond me. The only option is to bulldoze the lot and start again. I recommend that no one even contemplates moving to Hastings or the surrounding area. You will live to regret it - and that is a promise. All the people whjo say it is ok are probably weido types who have never left Hastings and haven't seen the rest of the world.

Dewi, why come on the forum and post such nonsense, yes I know Hastings in the early 90's wasn't the best of places to live but how can you say that people who like Hastings are weirdo's? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I respect your opinion that Hastings is crap, so why not grow up and respect other peoples opinion who say Hastings is nice. l.l

Hastings is not my home town, moved here nearly 10 years ago, I agree with dewi, the locals are only friendly to other locals probably born here. It is depressing, run down, and the s***iest town I have ever lived in, will be moving away from the area as soon as possible.

I lived in London for 30 years, in several different areas, no trouble, friendly people, I love London.
