Did you notice all the hundred of thousands of pounds that was spent on giving us a nice pedestrian precinct seems to be going to waste?
Pubs and cafe's are claiming vast areas and A-boards are appearing again limiting the walking area to mere alleyways of space.
Cycle riding makes it awkward at times as they ride without due care amongst pedestrians.
Whinge over.

Its called TRADE madam. Some of what the Town needs and a whole lot more to boot.
Re: Hastings town centre
I personally haven't found a problem with this. Many people do enjoy sitting outside their favourite bar and watching the world go by_ _ _ and if it's good for business then i'm all for it.
What part of the centre did you find overly narrow? Most of the pedestrian area has acres of space as far as I can see.

Thank you for your constructive comments by the way it's Mr.
I agree, trade is essential to our town but still think more pavement space is required for mums and pushchairs, large groups exploring our town and like myself, the disabled.

Many apologies to you Mr Karabina.
I do agree with Marina. We need more pavement cafes where people can sit out, have a drink etc. The Town needs to get a classier image, better restuarnts, some quality independant bars, coffee shops and juice bars. St Leonards is starting to get the idea. But, the Town centre is still living in a fast food, cheap drink, nasty atmosphere nightmare. It needs a serious upgrade. and fast!

Re: Hastings town centre
Look at Brighton and the Lanes.. vibrant, colourfull and relaxed bars, cafes etc_ _ _. outside seating is ace, watching the world go by, and chilling esp if it is hot and sunny_ _ _
Bank holiday before last , me and mrs chris sat in the italian restuarant in hastings for 2 hours , had a lovely meal, couple of bottles of wine and sat outside with a coffee afterwards watching the tourists, day trippers etc and enjoying the lovely sunny day_ _ _it was lovely..almost felt like we were abroard.. (apart from the Kiss me Quick hats lololol )
Hastings needs to be like Brighton, and go up market_ _ _ there is a place for takeaways, pubs etc..but trade will only increase with upgrading and a swing to cafe culture_ _ _.Good for houseprices and jobs too_ _ _
Brighton is lovely, however we have a better beachfront and we should look to improve it_ _ _.and of course we should make disabled access a must_ _ _. the town is for everyone_ _ _ cheers chris

Re: Hastings town centre
Yes please, I have just moved here. I could not afford Brighton prices. If Hastings folowed their model then the town would be a lot more vibrant both day and night.
