Council Cutbacks

The "Information Centre" outside the shopping centre is rumoured to be closing soon and may be replaced by a single kiosk (unmanned).

The lovely, colourful, enterprising "Tourist Information Centre" in Priory Meadow has now been turned into a series of Council-payment-kiosks with a vestige of an 'enquiries counter' left as a token_ _ _ :(

I am told it is about money and cutbacks !!

What a sad, depressing tourist information centre we now have at the Hastings town hall. Information leaflets have been relegated to a bland, almost empty side room with no staff presence there to offer assistance. What a welcome for visitors! I have been there a couple of times and find it to be a very cold and unwelcoming environment.
