In the small hours of this morning kids with too much booze and high spirits were out again shouting noisily to each other, oblivious of anyone else and tearing branches off the trees along the pavement in the St. Helens Road area by Alexandra Park.
One (of 5 youths) tried desperately to snap off a large council-planted pavement tree but it was more than a match for him.
They paraded the large branches they managed to snap off up and down the road between 2 and 3am sticking them in any place they thought amusing.
It's not the sort of thing you can tackle except by calling the Police but they probably have better things to do with their time
Perhaps we need a topic where locals can report minor crimes such as these? 8|

Re: Local Crime Reporting
Thanks for that Herring_Gull
I doubt there are enough Police man-hours available to deal with many more serious crimes
For example:
From my experience Police don't contact the owners (absentee landlords) of property where raids against drug-dealers have been carried out successfully.
They don't have the powers to fine the landlord or even warn him of what has been going on.
But it would be interesting to hear what crimes other people are aware of and how they are dealt with, by Police, satisfactorily or otherwise.
