Sea Front Improvements

Postby Richard » Wed Nov 14, 2012 10:06 am

Good to see that the Council are making some improvements to the marginal promenade areas where possible.
Kiddies 'play pads' are being constructed, for example at St Leonards on the walkway opposite Warrior Square.
Also across the road from the back of Argos, Hastings.

My mistake, the one over from Argos looks like it will be an 'excercise pad' with various instruments of torture.

'chard. Is that the one with the Pirate Ships?

If so I thinks you will find the large number of bearns who use it will dissagree with you.

I agree the roundabout does look a little like Ixion's wheel though.

Coming back last night by train-coach-transfer (engineering works this side of Battle) , I was struck by how groovy was the St. Leonards sea front from London Road to Warrior Square.
Bright coloured lights shimmering on the numerous promenade-side lamp posts, but very dull and hardly even any decent sea front lighting on the run approaching the Hastings-Harold Road turn-off.
I would say that St. Leo's is looking good but Hastings sea front looks dull and drab at night.

Driving/walking along the St. Leo's prom area looks much better by day too.
The only thing I would say is that if you are out walking there is a lot of ground to cover before you can find something open that serves good coffee and breakfasts between Claremont Rd, Hastings and London Road St. Leo's. and beyond.
There may be a couple of cafe's but closed until later in the morning.
I'll have a look over at what is going on over at the West Marina area tomorrow!
